Oh gravy, I've been tagged. - Devil on Your Shoulder
Go on. You know you want to.

Oh gravy, I've been tagged.

One of the benefits of having few friends is that I rarely get tagged for memes.

This has allowed me to metaphorically wallow in my metaphorical bean bag chair in the corner of the rumpus room, metaphorically being lazy while eating metaphorical cheez curlz and playing metaphorical 8-bit Nintendo games and every now and again yellling "Yeah!  What she said." as my contribution to the general conversation.

I have, however, been tagged bybeeej for a meme.   So I have to, you know, post and stuff.  I'm also adding my own question.

Bernard Black: My secret soul mate

1.) Do you like this character?

He's a mess and I adore him.  He says what he thinks, enjoys reading and smokes.

2.) What name(s) do you call this character?

Bernard

3.) What image/color do you associate with character?

Black.  That's kind of a given.

4.) What song do you associate with this character?
La Vie en rose, by Edith Piaf

5.) What blood type do you think this character is?

Merlot

6.) From all of the titles that feature this character, what other character do you think makes a good pairing with this character?

Probably Fran, but they're both such a mess that would never work.

7.) What would you want to say to this character?

Pass the jam.

8.) What do you want to do with this character?

Give him a good scrubbing, some clean clothes and then we discuss literature and politics at a nice little outdoor restaurant.  Followed by snogging.

9.) Name four other fictional characters (any show/genre/era) to join you and the one above for a dinner party and name the restaurant.

Jonathan Creek, the tenth Doctor, the Dread Pirate Roberts, and John Crichton at a really good Irish pub.
I'm not forwarding this because most of the folks I'd tag have already been tagged.

Just when you thought it was safe to read LJ...*cues Jaws theme music*

Sadly I have no clue who this character is, but I love your answers anyway...especially the blood type one. ;)

Black Books was a comedy on BBC starring the comedian Dylan Moran as Bernard Black, a man who owned a small bookstore. He hated everyone, drank a lot and smoked all the time. He loved to torment his one employee, Manny, and was generally disgusting. But also hilarious!

The DVDs are available, with commentary, and I highly recommend them. As there are only six episodes in each series, it's easy to ingest them quickly.

I'll be sure to ask the Welshman about it. It sounds fun. :)

That's fine, but no touching the Crichton.

My favorite was when Manny became a Man-whore. The hair was incredible.
